My family has been coming to Seabrook since 2008 and have celebrated many special occasions from 4th of July to high school graduations. This Christmas my family made a trip, yet again, to one of our favorite houses (Life of Riley). We arrived December 26th during a torrential downpour. But the moment we pulled into the house, the rain stopped and a beautiful rainbow appeared. We decided to quickly unload the car and bundle up to go the beach before the sun went down. We walked along the path at the top of the ridge, stopping to take pictures, down the winding forest steps, when I suddenly stopped in my tracks. Standing under the gazebo, decorated with twinkle lights and candles was my boyfriend. As I walked towards him, asking what he was doing here, he began to tell me about the moment he knew he would marry me. He turned me around, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I tearfully nodded yes and then noticed my family all standing behind cheering, his best friend and his other photographer friend who was capturing the entire moment. I was so shocked that he would drive all the way from Spokane just to surprise me! That night we celebrated with champagne and cupcakes from Red Velvet Bakery and enjoyed dinner at Frontager’s Pizza! We spent the next day wandering the beach, collecting shells and driftwood for a memory jar and taking engagement photos. Seabrook is such a special place to me and my family and now I can’t wait to come back in the future with my HUSBAND!!
