I needed a new experience to do with my daughter (11) who is very active and loves to be in the out of doors. I have always been intrigued by razor clamming, but the one time I tried by my lonesome it did not turn out well. I then started the YouTube university dive and thought maybe I am missing something, if I was to hire a guide and take my daughter that would be a fun trip with extra eyes on the kiddo to keep her safe. I then found the only guide in the state, and luckily they had some availability. We set out at 8am with Buck, my daughter, my parents, and myself on what would become a new family tradition. We had so much fun I couldn’t believe how knowledgeable Buck was and talk about a good soul. Once we got a hang of the shows we went at it. We did get a little cold here and there with the wind and cold ocean but in the end it was all so worth it. Once we all had our limits (or close too since we were cold) we packed up and headed back to the shop. Buck showed us how to clean the clams and the best parts of the clams to try out first. Once we got home we finished cleaning the rest of our catch, fried a few in simple panko and eggs wash. Delicious, absolutely delicious and from that experience and Buck showing us how its done, we have now just made a new tradition not only with our own family, but we will be wrangling in a few other friends to come with us next time. Thank you Seabrook and Bucks NW you all made 2023 a success already.
