In January, I (Nessy, I’m the mom) started seeing these Facebook Ads for a place called Seabrook, I ignored it of course as I do all the other ads that pop up. However, I have this obsession with small beach towns and the ads were cute and after working 16 straight hours I needed something to look at on my computer other than numbers and letters, so I clicked the ad, it took me the website – oh boy…
This year was a tough one (work-wise) and I needed a vacation, a change of scenery. We have kids, a granddaughter and another one on the way in the S.E. Region of WA as well as my husbands parents/sister in the Kitsap Penninsula, so of course visiting everyone was a must if we were going to be in Washington. BUT SEABROOK! It haunted me, partly because I clicked the ad, and partly because I kept going to the website and would vacation in my mind on my tough work days.
So for my birthday, I booked our vacation and then told my husband what I did – yup, I did it – he and our 2 youngest (ages 11 & 13) just had to follow along.
We spent the 4th of July in Port Orchard then drove across the state to Waitsburg where we spent a few days with our kids and then drove back across the state (along the way we did stop to view the beautiful sights WA had to offer).
Our last 5 days and 4 nights were spent in Seabrook and we FELL IN LOVE! So much so our kids (my teenage daughter especially) begged for us to move to WA. My husband and I are now looking into possibly starting a business in Washington.
I found my dream beach town, a place that reminds me of my childhood home, someplace we can make our forever home.
I am recharged and refocused, as I sit here in my office – still vacationing in mind my mind of Seabrook.
