Seabrook is truly one of our family’s favorite destinations. We are a family of 6, with kids ages running from 7 to 13, and often have an aunt, uncle, or cousins in tow as well as we travel. Having been fortunate enough to travel around the world with our troupe, I almost have to roll my eyes when the kids unanimously declare Seabrook as their favorite. I say *almost* because the truth is, it’s one of my favorites – and my husband’s as well!
One of the absolute best aspects of Seabrook is the ability for everyone to choose their own adventure – mom and the girls want to have spa time, and sit in the hot tub? We can! Dad and boys want to go on trails and try their hand at climbing some steep hills near the beach? They can! Older kids want to go do some shopping in town and grab an ice cream treat? They can! This is truly one of those unique, intentional destinations where you can tell someone WITH a family thoughtfully considered how a family might actually use the time on their getaway.
We arrived in late July with our family, my niece and nephew, and my sister and her husband. The home we had (Beach Bum) was truly a gem and fit us all comfortably with incredibly thoughtful details throughout the house. The fully equipped kitchen and fantastic outdoor grill allowed us to prepare delicious, gourmet meals at the home… but we still had the full convenience of the bakery, pizza shops, and more for those meals we felt like eating out. With a fire pit and pickleball court within line of site, a walkable beach (AND a beach mere minutes down the road that allows cars to park on the beach – SUCH a sanity saver when traveling with 6 kiddos), trails, and more, we truly could have stayed more days than the 4 nights we had.
We often have a difficult time explaining to friends and family exactly WHAT makes Seabrook so special – but then they visit and completely understand, often wishing they’d gone sooner, and always anxious to book the next stay!
