Our family has been coming to Seabrook for years at least 1-2 times per year and a few years ago, my wife and I started a tradition of having an annual winter weekend getaway in the month of love, February. This gives us an opportunity to connect together, from cuddling on the couch watching a movie to walking around Seabrook and the beach.
On this visit, we decided to brave the Seattle traffic and get in late on Friday night so we can spend a full weekend in Seabrook. Even though we showed up late, our rental rep conveniently emailed us our door code so we were able to get right into our rental when we arrived.
The first day may have been cold but the sun was shining all day, allowing us to take a nice walk around the neighborhood ending the day with a drive out to the beach for sunset. Since the razor clam dig was happening, it was neat seeing all the diggers lined up all up and down the beach.
Our second day started with snow flurries, sometimes going to a full-on snow. This made for a picturesque walk around town, and even in the snowy weather, we still had to stop for some tasty ice cream at Sweet Life. Since it was Super Bowl Sunday, of course, we had to watch the big game. After the game and eating dinner, we looked out our deck to see Seabrook covered in a dusting of snow that finally decided to stick.
The next morning, we woke up to a few inches of snow. With snow being so rare on the beach, we took a walk around to get some pictures and see Seabrook in all its snowy glory. As we departed, the sun came out making for a beautiful backdrop with the snow-filled trees in the foreground and bright ocean in the background.
While I don’t think we will experience snow in Seabrook again, the memories will stay and we are already looking forward to next year’s winter getaway!
